New Job Day One

Eager to go and with a fresh spring in your step you are off to that new job. Day one is here. Expectation, butterflies, new faces, new people, new job. What will you wear? How will you be received?

Our advice is that you be confident in yourself, you got the job based on your experience in the past and your potential to fit in to this company. The company has hired you with the confidence that you can do the job. Rest assured that you can. You will receive some induction and training to allow you to start into the job.

Take time to settle in and to get to understand your new company and role. Get to understand the people and the personalities. Get to know the politics of the organizations. Introduce yourself. Don't get lost if it is a big place. Take part in company events.

Don't decide to take on the company on day one and be careful not to put your neck on the block before you know who is likely to be the executioner.
